2014 marked the return of the RallyCross National Championships to Nebraska. The inaugural National Championships were held in Hastings, NE just a few short years ago. Since then the number of competitors has almost doubled to over 100 and continues to grow every year. The 2014 edition was held at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE on Oct. 4 & 5.

Yup, it was already that time of year. College Football season has just kicked off, the final heat of the summer is leaving it’s burn on our skin, the first chill of fall teases us, the sun starts to set earlier and earlier and about 1200 people make the trek to the middle of the country. Just over 100 competitors showed up at the now famous autocross concrete mecca in Lincoln, NE. With flat empty concrete as far as the eye can see Lincoln Air Park plays home to the largest racing event in the world, SCCA Solo National Championships. With the next national championships just 2 short weeks away, the MiDiv Championships served as an excellent tune up for competitors. More…
Fort Riley just outside of Junction City, KS played host to the second event in the SCCA MidWest Divisional Solo series on July 19-20, 2014. Helicopters served as some unusual spectators to the event lining the far side of the course. Military personnel were encouraged to compete, spectate and ride along during the event. Just over 90 entrants competed in the 2 day event in a variety of classes including stock, prepared and modified.

It was a hot sunny day on Sunday, July 13th out at Lincoln Air Park, but many braved the heat to take on the autocross course designed by Dave Fink. This was the 4th points event for the Nebraska Region SCCA. The next event will be August 10th at Lincoln Air Park. Photos from the event are posted in the photo gallery.
The 2014 SCCA Solo Autocross PAX indexes have been released. The PAX index is used as a basis to compare times against cars across different classes. The PAX index is calculated based off of results from over 500 events nationwide. This year introduces a new rules to the stock classes, which do not allow for race tires and the addition of a race tire class.
