Throwback Thursday to 2012 Rally America Rally in the 100 Acre Wood held in the forests of Missouri. Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino took another victory in their Monster World Rally Team Hoonigan Racing Ford Fiesta. They have dominated this event for the past 8 years.

Another Throwback Thursday to the forests of the 100 Acre Wood. This time featuring David Higgins and Craig Drew in the Subaru Rally Team (SRTUSA) STi Rally car. Something about this photo emulates rally. Maybe it’s the car slightly sideways, the cloud of dust, the spray of rocks or the sunlit forest road with menacing trees right at the edge. Or maybe it’s just Higgins who just claimed the 2014 Rally America National Championship, Congrats to him and the Subaru Rally Team. More…

No one can question Ken Block has been a dominating force at Rally in the 100 Acre Wood, winning a record 7 times. Not even a missing fender could slow down this Hoonigan in his Monster Energy World Rally Team Ford Fiesta rally car.

It’s Thursday, so that means another Throwback Thursday photo. This one is from my very first trip to SCCA Solo Nationals in 2007 at Heartland Park Topeka. Something about the positioning of the cone, the Subaru tripoding, the banners in the background, the sun glinting off the wheel, the big wing…. I don’t know it just screams AUTOCROSS! Still one of my favorites.
Throwback Thursday! Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb is this weekend, so let’s throw it back to 2011, my only trip to Pike’s Peak. I had an up close and personal encounter with David Kern’s EVO on a hairpin in the gravel section. This was the last year that there were any gravel road sections, immediately after the event they paved the rest of the road.
