Yup it’s that time of year when some sort of formula determines how each SCCA Autocross will compare to another class. After a full year of stock class cars being on street tires there have been some changes that should make things more accurate. CSP, STF and SMF also had some rather large adjustments. Also of note is the addition of a new Street Touring class, STP.

The 2015 version of the autocross index you love to hate is now out. The PAX/RTP index is used to compare SCCA event results across classes. This year all street tire and stock classes now require a minimum tread wear rating of 200 on all tires. Also gone are the race tire ‘stock’ classes. More…
The 2014 SCCA Solo Autocross PAX indexes have been released. The PAX index is used as a basis to compare times against cars across different classes. The PAX index is calculated based off of results from over 500 events nationwide. This year introduces a new rules to the stock classes, which do not allow for race tires and the addition of a race tire class.
