That’s right it is official (according to Top Gear)… there will be an American version of the hugely popular Top Gear series (BBC) that is hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. The History Channel will begin airing the first 10 episodes this fall. The hosts for the American version will be Tanner Foust, Adam Ferrara and Rutledge Wood.
Tanner Foust is an X-Games Rally Gold Medalist and stunt driver, he also regularly competes in Rally America and competed in the 2009 Race of Champions. Adam Ferrara is comedian (starring “Rescue Me”) and well-known Petrolhead. Rutledge Wood is a race analyst best known for reporting on Nascar events.
Though final dates are not set, it appears this is actually going to happen this time. Now can the American version live up to the name “Top Gear”?
