Don’t forget to set your DVRs for tomorrow for the X Games 16 Rally and Super Rally events. I’m guessing the Super Rally is going to bring some excitement and may be something worth watching a few times over. Just about anything can and will happen with 4 cars sliding and jumping together on the same course. Both events will feature some big names from Rally America and other motorsports.
WRC and Rally America driver Ken Block will be competing in both the Rally and Super Rally events in his Monster World Rally Team Ford Fiesta. Travis Pastrana, fresh off of his gold medal performance in Freestyle Moto X, will be looking to reclaim his title in the Rally event after crashing in the Finals last year and having to settle for silver. Pastrana will also be going wheel to wheel in the Super Rally with last year’s Rally Gold medalist and Indy driver Kenny Brack, Rally America drivers Dave Mirra, Andrew Comrie-Picard and Rally America Champion Antoine L’Estage, as well as Top Gear America host Tanner Foust. All of them will also be throwing down in the Rally competition along with Rally America’s runner up William Bacon and fellow Rally America driver and X Games rookie Chris Duplessis.
Also watch for Sverre Isachsen in the Super Rally, he is the defending European Rallycross Champion. Super Rally is almost identical to European Rallycross, so he will be the most experienced in this type of event and that could give him quite an advantage.
Coverage of Rally at X Games 16 begins at 2 PM Eastern on Saturday July 31st. Rally and Super Rally elims and finals begin at 7 PM Eastern on ESPN and ESPN 3D.
